Abstract
In this article, the subject of analysis is the impact of intertextuality on the emotional aspects of a literary text. The article attempts to define the emotive function of intertext by contrasting this phenomenon with the expressive function through opposition. Using Vladimir Makanin’s novel Underground, or A Hero of Our Time as an example, manifestations of the emotive function are interpreted. The author’s research focuses on the role of intertextual elements in shaping the emotional background and psychological portrayal of the characters. The article also examines how the pretext (original text) and its deconstruction influence the emotional perception and expression of the text. Particular attention is given to the role of context in the emotive function of intertext.
