Abstract
The article situates Witold Wedecki’s work within the context of twenty-first-century Polish literature and interprets it as a form of memory prose combining historical experience with existential reflection. The analysis focuses on displacement, intergenerational memory, locality, and the role of space in shaping identity. Particular attention is given to the “stained-glass” composition and to the novel Tatarka. A Jazz Novel, which introduces a shift toward embodied and affective experience. Wedecki’s writing is presented as a locally rooted variant of modernity marked by loss and relocation. The article argues that his prose constitutes an important complement to the landscape of contemporary Polish literature.
