Abstract
The present article analyses "Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag" videogame in the context of Aristotle’s Poetics. The inspiration for such a consideration comes from Aarseth’s postulate to liberate videogame studies from narratology, which, in turn, originates from Aristotle’s theory. This article tries to find an answer to the following question: Is video games’ structure so unique that while analysing them it is necessary to use tools other than those that are typical of literary studies?
