Abstract

Grzegorz Marzec’s "Ekonomia pamięci" ("The Economics of Memory") considers and examines different relations between the two terms of reference included in the title of the book. Taking into account both old and contemporary sources, Marzec does not limit himself to literature only, but he extends his research into the broadly understood discourse within the context of economics. He coins the term “pamięciomat,” which stands for exceptionally influential texts that record memory, and the term “memcoin,” which refers to all processes that lead to the monetarization of memory, or the use of memory as commodity.
