Abstract

The article presents an artistic profile of a forgotten publicist, teacher and literary critic from the late 19th and early 20th century - Julia Kisielewska. It contains the most interesting facts from her life and reminds about her works, dividing the latter into four categories: historical, pedagogical, feminist and literary criticism. Julia Kisielewska was a promoter of Stanisław Wyspiański and Eliza Orzeszkowa. She was the first to write about Wyspiański in most prominent scientific journals. Works and feminist attitude of Eliza Orzeszkowa fascinated her and encouraged to get involved in working to the benefit of women. Julia Kisielewska is the author of over one hundred and fifty publications in scientific journals, and a textbook of Polish history. In modern times, she was forgotten despite her interesting biography
and fruitful work.
