Abstract

Text focus atttention on Wacław Berent’s legacy – one of the most important prose writer at the turn of XIX and XX century. Authoress analyses informations from Berent’s letter, which shows wings his personal capers and let her move closer to writer’s method. Alongside collection of letters which some time ago was published and worked out by Włodzimierz Bolecki and Ryszard Nycz, in this text appears unknown till now letter of Wacław Berent addressed to Juliusz Twardowski, minister of Galicia. From this letter we can know that minister gave Berent a leg up in his searches connected with his work under "Living stones".
