Abstract
In his article Michał Siedlecki focuses on research issues related to the reception of Czesław Miłosz’s work in Poland and Lithuania. He was mainly interested in the following problems: similarities and differences in the reception of Miłosz’s work in both countries over the last few decades, an attempt to mythologize the writer, the heritage of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and current antagonisms in the perception of the artist’s achievements in Poland and Lithuania, as well as contemporary historical and political factors in Central and Eastern Europe. In his work, Siedlecki mainly assumes that the literary output of the author of The Issa Valley should permanently unite, not differentiate. He claims, therefore, that all disputes about the reception of Miłosz’s work in Poland and Lithuania seem unfounded today and should remain so forever.
