Abstract

Hanna Ursu, in her article on the topic of Ukrainian history and folklore, looks at the history of the „Ziewonia” literary group, which functioned from 1832–1838 in the Austrian partition, in the circle of former insurgents and participants in the Galician democratic conspiracy. The researcher is also interested, among other things, in the culture of the Slavs and its relationships with what we used to refer to as the Słowiańszczyzna, the peoples, the regionalism, the collection of folk songs and legends, and touring trips. Ursu also refers here to one of the features of Polish Romanticism – a sensitivity to the historical past, thanks to which numerous works of the historiography of that era served not only the expression of its representatives on the geopolitical topics that interested them, but also the form of their critical remarks with their own past.
