Abstract
The article analyses the poetic works of Elżbieta Kozłowska-Świątkowska, a poet from Białystok, the author of several volumes of verse and the director of the Trans Humana publishing house. It traces ways of the poet’s artistic development from the time of her debut in 1975 in the monthly Literatura. Kozłowska-Świątkowska’s oeuvre is considered against the backdrop of historical and generational changes, with the emphasis on the fact that far from being a “generation” artist, she celebrates privacy and more often than not considers existential problems in her verse.
