Abstract
The article presents different forms of cooperation among university libraries in the sphere of their basic tasks: gathering and processing collections, making collections available, and providing scholarly information. Not only does the author point to various levels of the cooperation, from the local to the international, providing characteristic features of each one, but she also highlights all the factors that slow down the process of consolidating the libraries. Białystok University of technology’s library, one of the largest technical library in the region, is presented as an institution that has introduced the most recent solutions in the field of such a consolidation.
