Abstract

In her article, Ewelina Mika reviews the book by Jarosław Ławski entitled ‘Miłosz: Chronicles of Being. Silvae rerum’ (2014). The text confirms that it is – according to the researcher – a book being both the result of private queries, doubts and considerations, and a scientific – selected by Ławski – form of silva rerum, which successfully grasps an in-depth reflexion based on personal readings as well as sensitively explored and scientifically documented interpretation. Silva rerum justifies, or perhaps legitimates and highlights this assumed feature, a feature of an interpretative text, it being an explicitly resounding personal tone of the researcher. The author identifies himself in his presentation as a researcher with his own scientific passion, using the potential of the Polish studies workshop in exploring the reading, but simultaneously – or even primarily? – trusting his intuition and the reader’s imagination – a passionate and a literary scholar at the same time.
