Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze phenomena related to the image category broadly understood as inspiration, building material and method of creativity.
The considerations are primarily determined by issues closely related to reflection on children’s literature, including: anthropological approach of Jerzy Cieślikowski as well as issues related to the theory of creativity. Moreover children’s creative predispositions happen to be an important context.
The exemplifications are shown by various works from the Anglo-Saxon literature which emphasize universality of the discussed phenomenon and particular creative sensitivity. Peculiar attention is given to the figures of Clive Staples Lewis, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien and Salman Rushdie.
