DECLARATION OF WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY

Digital accessibility:

The editorial board of “Bibliotekarz Podlaski” undertakes to ensure the accessibility of its website in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 4 April 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities. The statement on accessibility applies to the website https://bibliotekarzpodlaski.pl

The website is partially compliant with the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities due to the incompatibilities or exemptions listed below:

- the website, which is also a system for running an electronic journal, contains documents in pdf format which are not fully available in a digital form (requirement for a reading tool) 

The website has the following facilities for people with disabilities:

- a search engine indexing the content on the website,

- ability to move between page elements using the TAB key,

- navigational links to jump to a specific section of the site in the mobile version (search engine, major content and menu),

- ability to change the size of letters for the entire page,

- highlighting of navigation elements (focus) to make it easier to use the site for the visually impaired,

We kindly inform you that, pursuant to the Act of 4 April 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities, anyone has the right to request a public entity to make a designated website, mobile application or their elements digitally accessible, or to provide alternative access, under the conditions set out in the above Act. In case of refusal, the requesting party may lodge a complaint pursuant to the provisions of the Act of 14 June 1960, Code of Administrative Procedure, and also notify the Ombudsman.

The editorial office of “Bibliotekarz Podlaski” is located in the main building of Książnica Podlaska im. Łukasza Górnickiego in Białystok at 14 A, M. Skłodowskiej-Curie Street.

The premises of Książnica Podlaska comprise 7 floors. The main entrance is located in Maria Skłodowska-Curie Street. The interior can be entered via four flights of stairs and a wide glass door. On the right side of the stairs there is a ramp for wheelchair users. After entering the building, the user has to pass through an RFID gate and then proceeds to a spacious hall with a cloakroom on the right. Specific floors are connected by a lift adapted to the needs of wheelchair users. The accessibility departments are also reached by the main staircase, where the steps are marked in contrasting colours and the railing carries information in Braille. Also, the building has audible signage terminals to facilitate communication, located at the entrance to each floor, accessible to the reader and on the left-hand side at the entrance to the building. In addition, a tactile system consisting of guide lines and attention fields has been installed in the building to facilitate navigation for the blind and partially sighted persons.

There are toilets on each floor of the building, adapted to the needs of people with physical disabilities.

It is possible to introduce a guide dog.

This declaration has been made on the basis of self-assessment carried out by the public entity.
