Abstract

Article concentrates upon profile of Olga Daukszta, poet and teacher from Dyneburg (Daugavpils). The research draws upon source materials including testimonies of contemporary people and her private letters. During the 30’s and 40’s of 20th century she corresponded, among others, with Kazimerz Andrzej Jaworski, journalist for “Kamena”. There are also letters previously unknown, like these to Filomena Truskowska, a graduate of Dyneburg gimnazjum, a nurse and a member of the Home Army (AK). All these materials relate to the poet’s personal life, allow us to understand how she regarded contemporary society and the surrounding reality.
