Abstract

The article is a review of a text entitled Andrzej Towiański (1799–1878). Ein religiöser Reformer im europäischen Kontext seiner Zeit by Marlis Lami, published in Vienna in 2019. The text contains 309 pages. The book describes the world of Andrzej Towiański who was a Polish religious reformer. In her work, the author shows how the reformer’s ideas spread across Europe. The author focuses on the Writings of Towiański himself [German Schriften] as well as on the opinions of his contemporaries, including the critical one. Andrzej Towiański is also the founder of the Circle of God’s Cause [Polish Koło Sprawy Bożej] established in 1841. The work should also be published in Polish and opened to a wider audience.
