Abstract

The article considers the publishing project “Theatrical Collection”, which was launched in 2015 by the Lviv private publishing house Anetta Antonenko, offering Ukrainian readers and theatres books of classics and modern representations of world drama in Ukrainian translations – made directly for these publications – considering the current state of Ukrainian literature and the experience of translators who actively cooperate with modern Ukrainian theatres. The Theatrical Collection project has been inscribed in the context of modern book editions of European drama by other publishers, as well as in the general typology and periodization of contemporary Ukrainian drama anthologies, in particular, with anthologies of the collection stage. It shows how a niche publishing project in a short period of time creates its image through connections with theatres, cultural institutions, cooperation with translators and project managers, internal sociology, powerful promotions, and performative practices, some of which were available online under quarantine restrictions.
