Abstract

In this paper, the author tries to determine the relations of modern Ukraine to the European idea. From historical and cultural points of view, we can say that Ukraine is closely connected to Europe. But after long years of colonial expansion of the Russian Empire and then the USSR this attitude became ambivalent. Only during the Revolution of Dignity of 2013 was there established a European vector of development for Ukrainian society, which was focused on European moral values. This process of cognizance of Europe is still going on today. We can affirm this from different discussions which are continuing in intellectual groups. The main topic of such discussion is a Ukrainian future that is uncompromisingly connected with the future of the whole continent.
