Abstract

In her interpretive analysis of Jarosław Poliszczuk’s Ukrainian Crossroads. Studies, Monika Krawiel emphasizes the fact that it offers a very interesting perspective on the Ukrainian literature and culture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as on the condition of the humanities in contemporary Ukraine. It is, as she argues, of paramount importance as these days Ukraine has again become hot news in the media. The political upheaval in the country has shown that the Ukrainians are able to unite so as to struggle for their national and cultural identity. Poliszczuk encourages his readers to deepen their knowledge of the Ukrainian literature, whose history has not been sufficiently explored yet, but which still offers food for academic and non-academic thought.
