Abstract

The article reviews the peculiarities of the origin and development of Ukrainian literature written in Polish. Literary works of authors from the Ukrainian-Polish
borderlands of the XVI-XVIII centuries are also taken into consideration. The particular attention is paid to the literary works of the XIX century Polish language
writers who were preoccupied with sociopolitical and linguistic-cultural transformations. The article clearly demonstrates that the bilingual borderlands literature
belongs both to Ukrainian and Polish culture.
