Abstract

This article focuses on a bilingual collection of poems entitled "The Towers" (2017) by Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz (1894–1980). Its significant aspect is expressed in the process of translating poems from Polish to Ukrainian by Dmytro Pavlychko. Olena Diachenko analyses literary work of the Polish poet based on his biography and in terms of philosophical and aesthetic values. She presents details of creating this volume in the Ukrainian language and interprets poems forming its part. She as well undertakes the issue of compliance of the translated Iwaszkiewicz’s texts with their literary original.
