Abstract
The article presents issues of a divorce in Polish children’s literature at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. The analysis of chosen writings proves that it is a traumatic phenomenon in child’s life what conveys the depiction of ‘broken house’. In the other hand in children’s literature we can find attempt of rescuing and reconstructing children’s world and feeling of safety, examples of rebuilding of ruined house by the divorce. Analysed workings of literature end positive, they point to change for getting to grips with problem of divorce of parents by a child.
